General Information
This Integrative Health Symposium will bring together a multi-disciplinary team of professionals dedicated to improving the healthcare for veterans and their families. It is highly likely that you will encounter veterans and their families as part of your role as healthcare provider and educator. This program will help you be prepared to meet the unique healthcare and educational needs of military members and their families across all aspects of the deployment cycle. Objectives: At the end of the program participants will be able to: 

• Recognize veterans in your caseload and identify the specialized healthcare needs of veterans, especially those with multiple chronic conditions.
• Describe specific health issues experienced by veterans including: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and other acute and chronic conditions.
• Discuss evidence-based complementary and integrative methods for managing and treating identified health care conditions experienced by veterans and others with chronic conditions.

Audience: Nurses, physicians, social workers, other healthcare providers, integrative health practitioners, educators, and students.

Location & Parking
This event will be held at the UMass Center at Springfield Tower Square, located at 1500 Main Street, Suite 260 in Springfield, MA 01115. Attendees may park in the parking garage attached to Tower Square. Take the left elevator down to Upper Level (UL) and exit to the right. Proceed to the UMass Center on the right. 


Driving Directions 
From the East (Boston MA): Take the Mass Pike West to Exit 6 (Hartford/Springfield). At the traffic light turn left onto I-291 West. Go approximately 3 miles to Exit 2B Dwight Street. Turn left at stop light onto Dwight Street. Go approximately 6 blocks to Bridge Street and turn right onto Bridge Street. Go to stop light at corner of Main and Bridge Streets. Continue Straight through the light and the entrance to the Tower Square Garage will be on the left.

From the South (Connecticut): Traveling North from Hartford take I-91, then follow Exit 6 and continue North on Columbus Avenue. Go through two sets of lights and the entrance to the Tower Square parking garage ramp will be just across Boland Way on the right hand corner.

From the West (Albany NY): Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) East to Exit 4. Take Interstate 91 South to Exit 7 (Columbus Avenue). At stop light take a left to go under the I-91 overpass. You will be at another stop light. Stay in the left lane. Tower Square will be directly in front of you on the left corner. Turn left at the light. You may enter the Tower Square parking garage via the ramp on your right.

From the North (Brattleboro, VT): Take Interstate 91 South to Exit 7 (Columbus Avenue). At stop light take a left to go under the I-91 overpass. You will be at another stop light. Stay in the left lane. Tower Square will be directly in front of you on the left corner. Turn left at the light. You may enter the Tower Square parking garage via the ramp on your right.
